From 15 – 26 January, the Advanced Course on Microbial Physiology and Fermentation Technology was organized by BioTech Delft. Microbial physiologists, metabolic engineers and (bio)process engineers from the faculty staff, together with invited international experts from other universities and industry, will offer a combination of lectures.

From 17 – 21 April, the Advanced Course on Biocatalysis and Protein Engineering was organized by BioTech Delft (Yvonne van Gameren, Jenifer Baptiste). Organic chemists, enzymologists, microbiologists and (bio)chemical engineers from universities, together with invited international experts from industry presented their lectures.

Bootcamp in microbial physiology and fermentation technology!

It takes 36 participants, 350 typical Dutch cookies, 8 exercises, 65 phone calls with the online course leader, 21 speakers, 85 banana’s, 9 assistants from the Biotechnology Department, 8 lab tours and 100 bitterballen to achieve a successful advance course. From 18 – 27 January 2023 the Advanced Course on Microbial Physiology and Fermentation Technology took place for the 34th time.

The key to modelling and computational methods in bioprocesses

Last week we hosted the Advanced Course on Modelling and Computation for Micro-organisms in Bioprocesses (28 November – 2 December 2022) at PlanetB.io at the DSM site in Delft. During this course 21 international participants from both industry and universities participated, the course was organized hybrid with 17 on-site and 4 online participants.

A competitive and educational Advanced Course on Bioprocess Design

Last week the Advanced Course on Bioprocess Design took place, hosted in cooperation with PlanetB.io at the DSM site in Delft, the Netherlands. This course is cooperatively organized with graduate school VLAG and was organized hybrid, with 32 on-site and 4 online participants. International participants from industry and universities participated.

8 – 17 June the 33th Advanced Course on Microbial Physiology and Fermentation Technology took place in Delft, the Netherlands. 34 participants from all over the world participated in this intensive course.

The hybrid format is still a success, 31 participants joined online and on-site!

Last week we organized the Advanced Course Biocatalysis and Protein Engineering (4 – 8 April 2022). Hybrid means participants are joining the course online and on-site. In our case we had 13 online and 18 on-site participants.

How is it possible to have 28 participants in a course during Covid? Organize it Hybrid!

Micro-organisms in Bioprocesses (29 Nov – 3 Dec 2021). Hybrid means participants are joining the course online and on-site. In our case we had 12 online and 16 onsite participants.

First run of the new Multi-Omics course!

Last week we hosted the new Advanced Course Integrated Multi-Omics Approaches for Improvement of Industrial Microbes (1 – 5 Nov. 2021). During this course 13 international participants from both industry and universities participated.

Successful hybrid version of the Bioprocess Design course

Last week Planet B.io hosted the Advanced Course on Bioprocess Design (4 – 8 Oct. 2021) on the Biotech Campus Delft, organized by BioTech Delft. During this course 27 participants – 16 on site and 11 online – from both industry and universities participated.

Online Advanced Course on Downstream Processing 2021

28 June – 2 July 2021 the Advanced Course on Downstream Processing took place, this year the course was organized online because of the uncertainties for participants and lecturers to travel to Delft. 32 participants and 14 lecturers and assistants were involved for a whole week via Microsoft Teams.

First fully online Advanced Course

From 30 November – 4 December 2020, the first fully online Advanced Course of BioTech Delft took place, the Advanced Course Biocatalysis and Protein Engineering.

Advanced Course on Bioprocess Design with mix of on-site and online

Due to the pandemic we are looking at a new way of teaching our Advanced Courses. 14-18 September, 22 participant participated in our course, 14 on-site and 8 online.

This week the Advanced Course on Microbial Physiology and Fermentation Technology (20 – 31 Jan. 2020) took place for the 32th time, organized by BioTech Delft.
