Integrated Multi-Omics Approaches for Improvement of Industrial Microbes

First run of the new Multi-Omics course!

Last week we hosted the new Advanced Course Integrated Multi-Omics Approaches for Improvement of Industrial Microbes (1 – 5 Nov. 2021). During this course 13 international participants from both industry and universities participated.

Faculty staff, together with invited (inter)national experts from leading universities and industries showed how integrated applications of technologies provide holistic, quantitative insights in cellular physiology. Finally, they demonstrated how targets for (further) improvement of industrial microbes can be identified through integration of omics data with modelling approaches.

Our special guest was Edgar Sebastián Gómez Honostroza (Biotechnology engineer, Ecuador Catholic University), he won the MOOC Industrial Biotechnology in 2019 and had the opportunity to participate for free in one of our Advanced Courses. The story of his experience during this course will follow soon in our social media.

“Great state-of-the-art OMICS techniques (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics) explained theoretically and practically by speakers with different backgrounds. This course helped me expand my knowledge and gave me ideas for my current study.”
Elfy Ly (PhD Wetsus/TU Delft)

In our courses, BioTech Delft invites a wide variety of influential, international lecturers from universities and industries who present their vision on biotechnology and share their expertise. The Advanced Courses are short, in-depth courses, which are full-time and delivered in a timespan of either one or two weeks.
