From 12 – 22 January, the Advanced Course on Microbial Physiology and Fermentation Technology was organized by BioTech Delft (Yvonne van Gameren, Jenifer Baptiste).
Microbial physiologists, metabolic engineers and (bio)process engineers from the faculty staff, together with invited international experts from other universities and industry, will offer a combination of lectures.

“The preparatory material was very useful to get the basics present to get a nice kick-off at the start of the course”

The program during this week is supported by a course board, Pascale Daran-Lapujade (TU Delft), Henk Noorman (dsm-firmenich). For a better understanding of the lectures and to stimulate active participation by those attending, this intensive 9-days course combined lectures with group exercises and case studies organized by Prof.Em. Sef Heijnen, Henk Noorman and Robbert Kleerebezem. Fed batch tasks organized by Wouter van Winden (dsm-firmenich) and Djordje Bajic.

“The case study was a lot of fun, stimulating to think like this”

During the second week a lab visit was arranged by technicians Dirk Geerts and Erik de Hulster.

“Super cool to see the labs and really enjoyed the talks with the technician who knew a lot about the labs and equipment”
