Competing for the best bioprocess design prize
Last week the Advanced Course on Bioprocess Design took place, hosted in cooperation with Planet B.io, Biotech Campus Delft at the DSM site in Delft, the Netherlands. This course is cooperatively organized with VLAG graduate school with 30 international participants from industry and universities.
The course board leaders are Prof. Henk Noorman (dsm-firmenich/TU Delft), Prof. Ruud Weusthuis (Wageningen University), unfortunately Prof.Em. Sef Heijnen (TU Delft) was due to circumstances not able to be present but was successfully replaced by Wouter van Winden (dsm-firmenich). Invited speakers: Cindy Gerhardt, Michel Eppink, Mark Bisschops, Rene Wijffels, Dirk Martens, Michael Kopf, Kirsten Steinbusch and Liang Wu.

Besides all the presentations and exercises, there was a case study to win, the case study was organized by Amit Deshmukh from dsm-firmenich.

The prestige Geno. design prize (arranged by keynote speaker Noelia Gudiño from Geno, USA) is this year for the team of Dimitri van der Lee (TU Delft), Martin Terán Velástegui (TU Delft), Deborah Pfaff (DTU), Rene Gassenhuber (Wacker Chemie AG) and Mykhaylo Semenov Petrov (Novo Nordisk).
